The flag of Brabant is made on sturdy 115 gram gloss polyester ship flag cloth (115 grams/m2) with digital printing.

The glossy polyester ship flag cloth is hemmed all around and comes standard with a webbing band with a loop and a line.

The Brabant flag

The flag of North Brabant has a rich history. The characteristic checkered flag was first flown in the Middle Ages, but was adopted from the 18th century onwards. For a century, it was temporarily unused. Only in 1959 did the flag with the red and white checkerboard pattern become the official flag of North Brabant.

As far as we know, the colors in the North Brabant flag don't symbolize anything unique to Brabant. However, red and white are frequently seen in Brabant flags and pennants: these colors have been widely used since the Middle Ages, especially in shipping. They also appear in the flag of Antwerp, North Brabant's neighbor to the south.
